I'm pretty sure every scarf owning individual at some point in their life has looked at their closet and wondered how the heck they are supposed to organize their scarves. Just when I had lost all hope for any kind of formal scarf organization and begun to opt for a life with a cold neck, this happened.

What you need:

Picture
1. Hanger
2. Shower curtain rings (About $1 at Target)
3. Fabric paint
(About $1 at any craft store)
4. A small piece of scrap leather or fabric
5. Ribbon
(Wire ribbon is easiest to work with)
6. A broach or a single earring that lost its mate
7. Glue gun
8. Scissors

Thrifty Tip: If you don't have any scrap leather or fabric, make a trip to Goodwill and find something in a material you like. I also used an old hanger and a ribbon I recycled from a gift package. I was able to create this for under $3

So, let's make it!

Step 1:

Cut leather or fabric (whichever you chose) to the shape of the top portion of the hanger. I also cut some fringe for a fun little addition.

STEP 2:

Here's the part where I rummaged through old broaches and single earrings that have been lonesome for years. I decided on a large gold and cream earring. (Thanks mom for that 80's ginormous earring phase that left me with a lot to choose from.) To make the earring lay flat I bent the post back. Then I glued the leather and the earring to the hanger with my trusty glue gun.

STEP 3:

Next, take ribbon and wrap it around the hook. I used wire ribbon which made it super easy. A little dab of hot glue at the beginning and end of the hook will also help to keep it in place.

step 4:

This is my favorite part! The added touches of wonderfulness. I used fabric paint to write "scarves" with because I think it's easiest to work with and fairly durable. The color I used is Glittering Gold. I also put little dots of gold at the end of the fringe just to spice things up a little.

Step 5:

Be excited that your life is finally complete because your scarves are organized and in a beautiful way!!
